Tomatillo Salsa Verde

The tastiest tomatillo salsa verde recipe you'll find! Subtly sweet and mildly spicy, perfect for game day! Pair with a red marinara sauce and a tray of chips to enjoy!

Tomatillo Salsa Verde

Yield: 2 cups


  • 1 lb tomatillos, husks removed and rinsed

  • ½ onion, diced

  • 7 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 anaheim pepper, stem removed and halved

  • 1 serrano pepper, stem and seeds removed

  • 1 packed cup cilantro

  • 1 tsp paprika

  • ½ tbsp sea salt

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • 2 tbsp olive oil for grilling


  1. Heat the oil in a grill pan on high. Grill the tomatillos, anaheim pepper, and serrano pepper for 5 minutes flipping halfway through.

  2. In a high-speed blender, process all of the ingredients until well combined.

  3. Transfer to a bowl to serve and enjoy!
